I recently ordered a Samsung refrigerator for an elderly woman who lives alone. I specifically requested from the consultant at the branch that the delivery team call 30 minutes prior to their arrival to allow adequate time for preparation, a point which he confirmed. The consultant stated that the delivery window would be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The consultant explicitly stated that a minimum waiting period of five hours is required between the delivery of the refrigerator and its connection to the power supply. However, the following occurred: the delivery team called at 12:45 PM and stated they would be arriving in 15 minutes. Upon installation, the lead delivery person immediately plugged the refrigerator into the power outlet and indicated that this was normal. It should be noted that Samsung's official website specifies that one should wait at least two hours after delivery before plugging the unit in. After powering on the appliance, the delivery personnel instructed the client—the elderly woman—that she was responsible for removing all the styrofoam and adhesive tape from the refrigerator's interior shelves herself, while the unit was already running. This level of service is unacceptable.
